The production and quality was so much better! If anything I kinda prefer this version over We Stitch These Wounds. The original will always have a special place in my heart. I discovered that album when I was 14 and a freshman in high school, I had gone through a rough time with break ups and drama. That album pulled me through it all. This I give a 10/10 Great work BVB 🤘🏻
I have been a fan of BVB since 2012 and I have to say, the older album sounds better than this new “remaster.” The new sound is nice, but there are many issues that I have with the album as a whole. The echos from the drums and the guitars constantly overpower the songs most of the time. The solos are quiet and in some areas of the tracks the vocals are just too quiet. I’m a fan of this band, but this album remaster is one that I will not be buying.
It’s so beautiful to hear the same songs that helped me through so much as a teenager, but better quality and more care put into the production value, it’s simply a beautiful album from start to finish.
This album was definitely a chapter in my life and I’m sure it was to a lot of others, including the band themselves. I didn’t expect to get nostalgic after hearing the re-recorded version. From the harmonies, to the cadences, to the raspy growls; everything sounded overwhelmingly beautiful. Hearing Andy’s grandfather open up the record all over again with the intense cinematic pounding drums in the background was such a thrill. The acoustic guitar in The Mortician’s Daughter was so suddle and perfectly balanced in the mix. The scream, specifically in the bridge of Knives and Pens was when it was a wrap for me; I officially felt an old part of me that I haven’t felt in a long time. I love you guys. BVB Forever. 🖤 -ZZZSomnus
I first found out of bvb when i was 12 and knowing that theyre re recording songs from their first album is bad ass. Like seriously this sounds great its like a combo of bvb1 and bvb4 but in 1
